An extraordinarily moody piece by Embleton portraying allied forces led by Viscount Bernard Montgomery, making an advance over the sand dunes of North Africa.
The washes used in the sky by Embleton contrast wonderfully with the harsher lines of the desert sands. Details in the men's faces show the care and attention Embleton is known for in his work.
Embleton worked extensively for British comics, including strips such as Wulf the Britton, Wrath of the Gods, Stingray. He was also famed for his work on Oh Wicked Wanda for Penthouse magazine.
