The Gansu extra stem. The patterns are similar to the typical Gansu ones but 1. there is an extra stem to the wheatear at the 5 o’clock position on the back face and the patterns are smoother. This is due to the breakage of the mould which was then repaired by the craftsman, thus forming such patterns after the repairs. 2. There is a small dot in between the characters, ‘ 壹’ and ‘圓’. 3. The last stroke in the character, ‘華‘ was minted twice. There are three types of extra stems, thick stems, medium stems and thin stems. These are famous types from Gansu. The rarest are the thin stems. When collecting this type, collectors should be aware of the changes to the moulds. PCGS type LM-63D Kan Str, Extra Stem. 甘肃长缨：图案和甘肃标准版相似，主要特征，1背嘉禾5点钟方向多出一条缨带和嘉禾相连，整体比较平滑。产生这种现象的主要原因是模具破裂，造成流银现象，修模师傅发现后进行了修模所产生的。2壹圆二字中间有个小圆点。3华字最后一横有向右复打现象。根据缨带的粗细，又可分为粗长缨，中长缨，细长缨。为甘肃三剑客之一。粗长缨最常见，细长缨最少见，收藏过程中一定要注意改刻现象。PCGS标版LM-63D Kan Str, Extra Stem。
