Bottled in 1953 Decanted in 1973 A rare 1948 Garrafeira port from Kopke, the oldest port house. You should expect a garnet coloured port with aromas of dried red fruit, raisins and figs with prunes, coffee and cinnamon and clove notes. On the palate it should be sweet and smooth with the acidity balancing the sweetness and with a long aftertaste. An excellent Vintage Port comparable to the National 1963 from Quinta do Noval, which I also drank! In the photo a second empty bottle, which we drank and inspected! Formidable finish and taste.
