The 11th-century fort is now the extraordinary setting for the winery where Lamarque wines are produced. The estate has 35 hectares of vineyards (45% Cabernet Sauvignon) in the Haut-Médoc appellation. About the cuvée Château Lamarque produces a classic, heady Haut-Médoc with a strong influence of Cabernet Sauvignon. This intense, structured and clean wine needs to be kept at least for 7 to 12 years to fully express itself. Haut Medoc : The AOC Haut-Médoc is located south of the Médoc appellation. The Haut-Médoc appellation produces only red wines (220,000 hl / year) out of 4,800 ha including 6 renowned municipal appellations: Margaux, Moulis, Listrac, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe.
