Ardbeg "Extreme Experimentation" Duo: Hypernova & Ardcore (Committee Releases)

1. Release Timeline
Ardbeg Ardcore: Released in May 2022, this Committee Release broke tradition by using "Black Malt" (barley roasted at extremely high temperatures), creating a "punk" profile of charcoal and dark chocolate.

Ardbeg Hypernova: Released in October 2022, marking the absolute pinnacle of Ardbeg's peat levels at 170+ ppm. This remains the most heavily peated expression in the distillery's history.

Up for auction is a high-impact duo from the Ardbeg Distillery, showcasing the most radical technical experiments from the Committee Series. Combining the roasted "Black Malt" innovation of Ardcore with the raw peated power of Hypernova, this lot is essential for any serious Islay collector or "peat freak."

2. Bottle Details
Ardbeg Hypernova (Committee Release): The most heavily peated release ever produced by Ardbeg (170 ppm). An explosion of tarry smoke, medicinal notes, and raw power. A true piece of modern Ardbeg history and a legendary milestone for the distillery.

Ardbeg Ardcore (Committee Release): A tribute to Ardbeg’s "punk" spirit. This expression uses roasted black malt to achieve a unique profile of biting charcoal, dark cocoa, and savory notes. A masterclass in how roasting temperatures can redefine Islay smoke.

3. Condition Report
Fill Level: In the neck - Perfect.

Labels: Excellent condition; no abrasions, scuffs, or signs of humidity/staining.

Capsules/Seals: Fully intact and original.

Packaging: Both bottles are complete with their original packaging in "Like New" / Mint condition.

4. Tasting Notes
Ardbeg Hypernova: Pungent notes of tar, creosote, and soot with a minty undertone. On the palate, it delivers a massive peat explosion of black pepper, bonfire smoke, and aniseed.

Ardbeg Ardcore: Aromas of roasted coffee beans, marmalade, and soot. The palate is spicy and savory with notes of burnt toast, dark chocolate, and a long, ashy finish.
