A wonderful example of the fluorite crystals that used to occur at the Montrose Rock Dump, which existed because of the disposal of blasted rock for the Welland Canal. During the digging of hydro canals in Niagara Falls, the excavated rock was transported to spoils piles on Montrose Road. Now quite exhausted, it is an excellent example. Associated with sphalerite
