In good condition.
"The LC1 armchair for Cassina was designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier in close collaboration with architect Charlotte Perriand. Thanks to its visible chrome-plated steel frame, the LC1 is one of the most influential design icons of the 20th century. The movable back and seat are upholstered in saddle leather.
Le Corbusier is a pseudonym for the architect Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris. He was born in Switzerland in 1887. At the age of 29, he moved to Paris and adopted his grandfather's name, Le Corbusier, as a pseudonym. As an architect, he was innovative. He founded a new art movement called "purism," essentially a reaction to Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
His LC1 design for Cassina is a prime example of this movement. Le Corbusier saw furniture as objects that served as an extension of the human body. This is also reflected in the way he designed the armrests of the LC1. The leather "strap" that serves as the armrest connects the armchair's two metal legs. Corbusier wrote many books on architecture and interior design and achieved considerable fame with his unique designs."
