The FIRE Edition is a Limited edition release 15 year old single malt which has been matured in 100% refill Port casks which is a first for Highland Park. Nose: Earthy cranberry, smoked rose turkish delight, red liquorice, cherry jam, some leathery notes, ripe dark plums, dark chocolate on the forest floor. Palate: Fat and juicy red fruit (think damsons and plums) aromatic smoke (cinnamon bark on a bonfire) white pepper, red liquorice, new leather, crunchy tannins, redcurrant jelly on smoked duck salami, dry rose wine or tawny port nuances. Finish: Crunchy red berries, white pepper, sweet smoked meat, red liquorice, smoked fry's turkish delight bars, ripe plums and cinnamon compote. Spiced strawberry jam. A very elegant Highland Park and the packaging adds a real extra dimension to this whisky! A sort of deconstructed michelin star restaurant of a Highland Park and well worth paying the extra for.
