This substantial cast copper vase is crafted by Yamamoto Hozan II, a master of Takaoka Copperware, a traditional Toyama Prefecture craft.

Auspicious "Crane and Turtle": The crane and turtle, symbols of longevity and good fortune, are inlaid with gold and silver by skilled artisans. The three-dimensional shape, which appears to float above the surface, exudes the elegance and strength unique to metalwork.
Dignified Texture: Takaoka Copperware's traditional casting techniques create a powerful, rock-like texture that is unique to each piece. The deep color unique to copper adds a dignified atmosphere to Japanese spaces such as Japanese-style rooms and alcoves.
