Monumental Iron-Clad Haveli Counter – Rajasthan, India – Circa 1900

A monumental architectural counter from Rajasthan, India, dating to the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880–1920).

Originally constructed using traditional haveli door panels and reinforced with hand-forged iron plating, this impressive piece combines defensive ironwork with functional storage. The façade is clad in riveted iron bands and punched decorative detailing, characteristic of fortified merchant doors and strongroom panels from the region.

The beautifully oxidized turquoise patina has developed naturally over time, creating depth and authenticity. The scale — 207 cm high and 183 cm wide — gives the piece true architectural presence, making it ideal as a statement bar, kitchen counter, retail display or dramatic interior focal point.

Behind the iron-clad doors, generous interior storage provides practical functionality while preserving its historic character.

Age-related wear, oxidation and surface irregularities are consistent with its age and enhance its authenticity.

Delivery & Transport Information

Delivery is usually carried out by us personally to ensure careful handling and safe arrival of the furniture.

If personal delivery is not possible due to distance, location, size, or weight of the item, the furniture will be professionally packed and shipped via a specialized transport company. Please note that professional packaging and transport services involve additional costs.

All listed transport costs (with the exception of deliveries within The Netherlands) are indicative only. Delivery is made to the first accessible threshold/ground floor entrance unless agreed otherwise in writing. Unpacking, installation, assembly, and placement of the furniture inside the property are the responsibility of the buyer.

The buyer is responsible for ensuring adequate access to the delivery location (including door widths, staircases, elevators, and parking availability). Any additional costs resulting from limited access or special lifting equipment will be charged to the buyer.

We strongly recommend inspecting the item upon delivery. Any visible transport damage must be reported immediately at the time of delivery and noted with the carrier.
