卖家的描述
Elegant Spanish reliquary dating from the first half of the 20th century, crafted in the distinctive baroque Sevillian style. The piece features a rich burgundy velvet ground adorned with a highly detailed silver-plated bas-relief frame, designed in lavish volutes, shells, and floral ornamentation.
The relic display at the center is enclosed in a raised oval cartouche. Inside are two labeled relics:
Virgen del Valle, a revered Marian devotion especially venerated in Andalusia.
Cristo del Corazón, referring to devotion to the Sacred Heart of Christ.
These relics are surrounded by decorative glass stones and miniature pearls, arranged with devotional symmetry. The back of the reliquary is finished in red fabric with an elegant starburst framing pattern.
This reliquary was likely used in a domestic altar or ecclesiastical context in southern Spain and reflects the enduring Catholic devotional practices of the region.
Measurements
29cms x 22cms
Condition
Very good condition. Minimal wear with well-preserved velvet, intact glass covering, and beautifully aged silvered finish. No visible damage or repairs.
