Emi made two key saves during the last minute of extra time and the decisive penalty shoot-out- helping Argentina win 4-2 on penalties. Martinez was awarded the Golden Glove for his performances in the tournament and also won the 2022 The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper award.
