卖家的描述
Ancient stone statue from Bongo tribe, South Sudan.
Dimensions: height: 28.5 cm; width: 14 cm; depth: 14.5 cm. Weight: 6.9 kilos.
Type of stone: volcanic stone (basalt conglomerate).
Estimated age: 公元400年。
Provenance and history of the piece: collected on 1949 in Zanga, Sudan, Bahr El Ghazal province, nowadays archaeological area of Zanga, South Sudan, Western Bahr El Ghazal province, by Comboni 神父 Filiberto Giorgetti. Acquired with a bunch of other funerary posts and stone statues from South Sudan from Walter Giorgetti, Filiberto Giorgetti 神父的亲属, in 2008.
Overall condition: the statue shows deep signs of erosion, but it is in good condition and looks amazing. Few of this type of stone statues have been catalogued in western museums, one of the most famous examples is located at the National Museum of African Art in Washington DC. This piece comes from the archaeological area of Zanga, 120 kilometres southwest of Raga, South Sudan.
This is a unique archaeological museum piece, of inestimable value, not easy to find of this age, and not easy to find of this beauty.
A true, unquestionable masterpiece.
A professional invoice with a picture of the object, as well as the aforementioned description, will be delivered with the lot.
Delivery by International Quick Pack.
