Pierced Porcelain Basket - Ginori Manufactory, Doccia
Italy, circa 1780-1800
Elegant pierced porcelain basket produced by the renowned Ginori manufactory in Doccia during the late 18th century.
The oval body is finely reticulated in an open lattice pattern, creating a light and refined structure typical of high-quality Doccia production. The exterior is enriched with gilded trellis decoration and a cobalt blue line at the base, while the scalloped rim is highlighted with a deep blue border and gilded edge.
The interior well features a puce camaieu oval medallion depicting a classical female figure in draped antique dress, framed by a gilt interlaced border. Surrounding the medallion are delicate polychrome floral sprigs and fruit motifs painted in soft enamels.
Scrolled handles are integrated into the lattice structure, enhancing both functionality and decorative elegance.
The underside is glazed and unmarked, consistent with early Doccia manufacture.
