This is an authentic mono pressing of the debut Beatles album on the Vee-Jay label. It features the black label with a rainbow color band and the VJ logo in brackets at the top. This is the "Version 2" tracklist, which includes the songs Ask Me Why and Please Please Me. The record was pressed at the Monarch Records plant, identified by the MR logo in the runout.

I Love You, Vee-Jay was forced to remove those tracks in February 1964, replacing them with Ask Me Why and Please Please Me. This version remains a cornerstone of any serious Beatles collection as it represents the chaotic and legendary period of the band's initial American "invasion."
