This striking flat vase (henko) is a work by contemporary Japanese ceramic artist Mori Katsushi, showcasing his mastery of saiji — polychrome overglaze enamel decoration.
The vessel features an elegant compressed form with a broad, flattened body, adorned with delicately rendered botanical motifs (kusamon) in soft, harmonious tones of blue, green, and earthy hues.
