Tibetan Iron Ritual Sceptre

Carved from a single piece of iron, this compact ritual sceptre presents a vertical pair of expressive skulls, each with hollowed eyes and sharply defined teeth. Above them rises a faceted geometric element, while the shaft is embellished with spiralling bands and small circular indentations. The surface retains a deep, naturally developed patina consistent with age and ritual handling.
Objects of this type are associated with protective or wrathful ritual contexts within Tibetan Buddhist practice, and the precision of the carving in such a hard material attests to the skill of the maker.
