Rare pair of vintage table tennis bats dating from the late 1970s to early 1980s, featuring the renowned British table tennis player Desmond Douglas.
Each wooden handle incorporates an original photographic image of Desmond Douglas, one of the most iconic figures in international table tennis and multiple-time English national champion. The handles are decorated with elegant gold calligraphic motifs, typical of Asian export production from this period.
These bats are not standard sporting equipment but true sports memorabilia items, produced as promotional or commemorative pieces during the peak of Desmond Douglas’s international career.
• Good vintage condition
• Visible signs of age and use on the red rubber surfaces (wear, light cracking)
• Wooden handles solid and intact
• Player photographs well preserved and clearly visible
• No structural damage observed
Condition fully consistent with age.
Offered as a matching pair, which is considerably rarer than single examples and highly desirable for collectors of table tennis memorabilia.
