Vintage Pelikan 140 Fountain Pen mid 1950s plus a matching 350 mechanical pencil. The Pelikan 140 pen is from the early production to see at the nib lines. The first 140 nib displays the lines of the chevron approximating one another at the slit which was in use from 1954-64. The nib of the 140 are is made of monotone 14C-585 yellow gold. From 1954 onwards, the cap band is found with the inscription “Pelikan 140 Germany. The domed cap top was originally produced without the company logo and is completely smooth. Beginning in 1954, the two chick logo in use at the time was engraved on all the cap tops that followed. The Pelikan 350 Pencil is the version of the 350 series which typically reads something like “Pelikan Günther Wagner” or “Pelikan 350 Günther Wagner Germany” found along the topmost portion of the barrel. The 140 Pen has no piston filler and need to be checked, the fillers are still to get at a local Pelikan dealer. Please check the pictures as there are some tiny wear and tears. The 350 Pencil comes with a filler and works fine, but has also to be checked as both of these are over 75 years of age. Collector items!
