Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Guanacaste/Nicoya Region, ca. 300 to 500 A.D.
A gorgeous bird celt, skillfully carved and string cut from a beautiful piece of pale green jadeite.
The form depicts a perched bird with wonderful details: a long, pointed beak, small round incised eyes, two prominent feathers atop its head, and schematic feathered wings-hands meeting across the chest above the celt-shaped blade below . Centrally drilled on the uppert area for attachment or suspension. Sold without stand.

Dimensions: 13,50 cm.

Condition: Small surface wear at the blade edge. Excellent condition.
