With this square-format artwork, Medsan pursues his bold exploration and delivers a new, decisively urban and humorous vision of traditional Japan. This giclée features a mythical figure from ukiyo-e and Japanese culture — a stealthy ninja (shinobi) — reimagined as a contemporary fast-food delivery rider.

The visual and temporal contrast is striking: dressed in his traditional dark, loose-fitting attire, with half of his face masked to preserve his historical anonymity, our nocturnal courier sports ultra-modern high-top sneakers — a wink to sneakerhead culture and streetwear. In perfect balance, he holds in one hand an impressive stack of colorful boxes stamped "Edo Pizza Delivery", while in the other he grips a slice of pepperoni pizza, caught in the act of indulging during a mission.

The impact of the work also rests on its intensely violet, plain background. This lack of scenery, inspired by modern Pop Art, highlights the dynamic crouched pose and the biting irony of the situation. The signature "Medsan" in Katakana (メドサン) placed in the lower right corner seals this perfect fusion between Edo-period classical art, hype culture, and our immediacy-driven society.
