ACCA AU-55 BN, Japan Meiji 16th Year Half Sen Copper Coin, Choice Extremely Fine\nThe Japan Mint produced the earliest half sen trial coins in Meiji 3 (1870). The design of this coin can be seen as a reduced version of the one sen copper coin. Ten years later, all the scales on the dragon design became wave-shaped, continuing this way until it was withdrawn from circulation in 1953. The obverse is divided into inner and outer layers by a beaded circle; the inner layer features the dragon design, which is extremely exquisite and beautiful.
