Antique Polish Jewish Natla (Ritual Hand-Washing Cup) – 19th Century Hand-Hammered Copper – Family Heirloom from Poland.

An authentic and rare 19th-century Jewish ritual hand-washing vessel, known as a "Natla". This piece is a significant example of Eastern European Judaica, entirely handcrafted from heavy-gauge copper.

Provenance:
This Natla was a cherished heirloom belonging to a Jewish family from Poland. It represents the rich religious life and cultural heritage of Polish Jewry. Surviving as a physical link to a pre-war community, it carries immense historical and emotional value.

Artisanship & Design:
The vessel features a classic, sturdy tapered design, characteristic of Polish metalwork. It has a wider base for stability on stone or wooden surfaces. The handle is a hand-forged copper strap, which is non-magnetic, confirming the high quality of the materials used. The visible hammer marks and the vertical seam highlight the traditional "coppersmith" techniques of the era.

Condition:
The piece is preserved in its original "as-found" condition. It exhibits a magnificent, deep "Verdigris" patina and natural mineral oxidation, the result of generations of daily ritual use. We have chosen not to polish or clean the item to maintain its historical integrity and the "skin" that collectors highly prize.
