Antique 24-Piece Cased Fish Cutlery Set - George Butler & Sons, Sheffield - ca. 1900
Description:
Complete antique Victorian/Edwardian fish cutlery service for 12 people (consisting of 6 starter/dessert size pairs and 6 main course size pairs). This set was crafted by the renowned master cutlers George Butler & Sons of Sheffield, England.
Key Features:
• Maker: George Butler & Sons, Sheffield (hallmarked 'G B S').
• Period: Probably late Victorian or Edwardian (ca. 1890-1910)
• Material: High-quality Silver Plated (EPNS) blades and tines, featuring beautiful hand-engraved floral and foliate
Decorations.
• Handles: Classic cream-colored "French Ivory" (ivorine/composite) handles in excellent vintage condition.
• Design: Ornate silver-plated ferrules (bands) connecting the handles to the blades, adding a touch of elegance to any dining table.
• Case: Presented in its original, velvet-lined wooden storage chest, which has preserved the set remarkably well over the last 120 years.
Condition:
