Masao Ido began creating woodblock prints in 1972 and became known for his detailed seasonal scenes of Japan. Using traditional techniques with multiple carved color blocks and repeated hand-printing on handmade washi paper, his works achieve rich color depth and delicate light expression. His distinctive green tones, often referred to as "IDO GREEN", are particularly characteristic. His works are included in collections such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Library of Congress.
