☆ Pure Silk Jinbaori (陣羽織) with Torch & Display Stand Tango no Sekku, Showa Period – (No Reserve Price)
This item is a jinbaori created for Tango no Sekku (Boys’ Day). Although it is a slightly smaller size intended for festival display, it is beautifully crafted from pure silk, resulting in a luxurious and elegant appearance.
A jinbaori is a sleeveless surcoat traditionally worn by samurai over their armor, mainly during the Sengoku period (1467–1573). While it provided practical protection against cold and rain, it also served a highly decorative purpose—allowing warriors to assert their presence and display authority on the battlefield. Renowned warlords were known to commission jinbaori with distinctive designs, wearing them as they went into battle.
◎ This lot will be shipped from Japan.
(The total weight exceeds 6 kg. Please take shipping costs into consideration before bidding.)
【This lot includes a jinbaori, an electric torch, and a display stand.】
〈Torch〉
This is an electric torch designed to resemble gently flickering flames. It comes with a Japanese plug; therefore, a voltage transformer will be required for use outside Japan.
〈Display Stand〉
The stand is finished in lacquer with maki-e decoration, featuring Mount Fuji, one of Japan’s most iconic symbols. In addition to displaying the jinbaori, it can also be used to present ikebana (flower arrangements) or special ceramic pieces.
Please note: the final photograph shows an example with a bonsai displayed. The plum bonsai is not included in this listing.
