This is a refined Japanese lacquerware writing box (Bunbako), crafted in the esteemed Takaoka lacquerware tradition and exclusively retailed by the prestigious Ginza Wako in Tokyo.
The piece features a deep, lustrous black lacquer finish (kuro-urushi), beautifully decorated with an elegant pair of folding fans (sensu) enclosing seasonal chrysanthemum motifs—symbols of longevity and refinement in Japanese culture.
