DESCRIPTION:
Tyrannosaur teeth from the Judith River Formation, which some sellers label as "Nanotyrannus," are for sale from various fossil dealers. However, isolated teeth from this formation are often difficult to definitively identify and may be labeled as one of several tyrannosaur species like Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus, or Daspletosaurus.
Some retailers may use "Nanotyrannus" for smaller or juvenile-looking teeth found in this formation, but these are not always a guaranteed match and are often considered distinct from the Hell Creek formation's Nanotyrannus specimens.
