卖家的描述

Satsuma Ware Tea Bowl – Kinrande Gold Decoration – Floral Motif – Momohaku Kiln – With Original Wooden Box

This elegant tea bowl is a refined example of Japanese Satsuma ware, produced by Momohaku Kiln (桃伯窯) in Kagoshima, the historic region of Satsuma pottery.

The bowl is richly decorated with delicate kinrande-style gold embellishments and intricate floral motifs arranged within geometric panels. Each panel features finely painted flowers in soft tones of pink, yellow, white, and red set against a subtle background of traditional Japanese wave and lattice patterns. The refined use of gold outlines and the detailed hand-painted decoration reflect the characteristic elegance associated with modern Satsuma ceramics.

The interior of the bowl is finished in a soft ivory glaze with a beautiful crackle pattern, creating a warm and refined aesthetic suitable for the Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu). The contrast between the calm interior and the richly decorated exterior enhances the visual balance of the piece.

The bowl bears a kiln mark on the base and comes with its original wooden storage box (tomobako), inscribed with the characters for tea bowl and the kiln name.

This piece represents the continuation of traditional Satsuma craftsmanship into the modern era and would make an attractive addition to a collection of Japanese ceramics, tea ceremony utensils, or decorative Asian art.

Note:
The styled interior photograph is for display purposes only and is intended to illustrate how the Tea Bowl may be presented. This auction lot includes the Tea Bowl only.
