The most striking feature of this Kensui (waste water jar) is the dramatic "landscape" (keshiki) created by the sophisticated interaction of its glazes. Larger and more robust than a standard tea bowl, this vessel showcases a masterful transition of colors, flowing from a luminous water-blue and deep azure to misty grey and charcoal black. These hues are punctuated by dark, organic speckles and "lightning-like" iron streaks that emerge from the firing process, giving the piece a dynamic, elemental energy.

The artist has employed a tactile wavy surface technique (Undulating form), where the intentional ridges and depressions on the exterior provide a rhythmic, undulating texture. The thick, viscous glaze pools beautifully in these crevasses, highlighting the natural transformation of the minerals during high-heat vitrification. The contrast between the richly glazed interior and the raw, unglazed clay base (kodai)—which bears the impressed mark "Moriyama 守山"—underscores the rustic elegance of Japanese tea ceremony stoneware.
