Model History:
The Seiko Goldfeather, introduced in the early 1960s, represents one of Seiko’s first serious attempts at ultra-thin watchmaking. At a time when slim dress watches were dominated by Swiss manufacturers, Seiko developed the Goldfeather line to showcase its technical capabilities, featuring an exceptionally thin hand-wound movement paired with elegant, minimalist design.
The reference 15005 is among the earliest executions of this concept, powered by a finely constructed Seikosha calibre with 25 jewels and Diashock protection. With its clean dial, long faceted lugs, and restrained aesthetics, the Goldfeather embodies the refined Japanese approach to dress watches of the era and remains an important milestone in Seiko’s pre-Grand Seiko development.

The dial is particularly impressive, showing a crisp sunburst finish with only very light, even patina and no notable damage, giving the watch a highly original and untouched appearance. The movement is clean and has been fully serviced, running properly with all functions as expected. The watch is fitted with a new crystal, ensuring perfect clarity, and comes on a period-correct style steel bracelet (Gemex).
