La finitura "Pettinata" dona a questo tessuto una morbidezza vellutata al tatto.
Una garanzia per questo tessuto di pregio William Morris. Provare per credere!
This cotton fabric presents a rich botanical motif inspired by the historic Chrysanthemum pattern by William Morris. The design is dominated by large chrysanthemums, full and layered, with soft petals that curve slightly to create a voluminous and ornamental effect. The leaves, broad and veined, are rendered with thin lines reminiscent of 19th-century botanical illustrations.
The rust-red background is warm, deep and enveloping: an intense shade that enhances the complexity of the pattern and gives immediate character to the fabric. Around the main flowers unfolds a dense interweaving of branches and decorative leaves in orange and sage tones, creating rhythm and movement without weighing down the composition.
The pattern layout is typically Arts & Crafts: no rigidity, but an organic, continuous flow that makes the fabric lively, natural and sophisticated. The palette, earthy and harmonious, recalls Morris’s historical prints, reinterpreted with a slightly more modern and luminous touch.
William Morris (Walthamstow, 24 March 1834 – London, 3 October 1896) was a British artist and writer.
Morris was among the principal founders of the Arts and Crafts movement; he is regarded as a precursor of modern designers and had a notable influence on architecture and architects of his time.
Many consider him the father of the Modern Movement, although he was not an architect himself. He founded a design studio in collaboration with the artist Edward Burne-Jones and the poet and artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who profoundly influenced church and house decoration in the twentieth century. He also contributed significantly to the revival of traditional textile arts and related production methods.
