A greenish-black, cylindrical stone vessel carved in relief with an upper band of stylized glyphic/geometric decoration. The lower band contains two deity heads wearing disc ear ornaments and holding ceremonial implements. One deity is depicted with a large curled moustache and goatee. Maya, Honduras-El Salvador. 500-800 A.D.
Condition: Traces of red pigment located in the interior base of the vessel. Intact, excellent condition. A rare and beautiful example
Size: 33,50 x 12,50 cm.
Provenance: M.F Private Collection, Madrid. Acquired at Arte Primitivo Gallery in 2007. Formerly Private Midwestern Collection ( USA ).
Notes:
- The piece includes authenticity certificate. the piece is in the process of obtaining the renewal of the export license ( Passport for European Union).
This process can take between 2 and 4 weeks.
- If the piece goes outside the European Union a new export license will
be requested by us, This process can take beteen 1 and 2 months.
According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union
are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the
buyer\'s expense. These export fees are fixed on the final auction price
and the tax rate is not applied directly on the total value of the item
to be exported, but rather the different percentages by sections are
applied to it:
