卖家的描述
Item Description:
香祥 Kosho — Kutani Ware Flower Vase (Hanaire / Kabin) with Original Tomobako Box
An elegant Kutani ware flower vase (hanaire / kabin) bearing the mark of Kosho (香祥), crafted in the celebrated polychrome overglaze enamel tradition of Kutani ware from Ishikawa Prefecture — one of Japan's most distinguished porcelain traditions, renowned since the Edo period for its bold palette and refined pictorial decoration.
The vase presents a classical elongated ovoid form with a gently flaring mouth and a well-proportioned foot-ring — a shape that provides a stable, graceful profile suited both to floral arrangement and display.
The white porcelain body serves as a luminous ground for the overglaze enamel decoration, executed in the hallmark Kutani palette.
The exterior is painted with decorative motifs characteristic of the Kutani tradition, rendered with confident, practiced brushwork.
Gold detailing accents the composition, adding a note of refined luxury consistent with Kutani's reputation as a prestige ceramic ware.
The base bears the maker's mark confirming attribution to Kosho.
The piece is accompanied by its original signed wooden presentation box (tomobako).
A handsome example of 20th-century Kutani ware in the classical decorative tradition — suitable for use with fresh or dried flowers, or as a freestanding decorative object in a Japanese or contemporary interior.

Artist Profile
香祥 Kosho
Kosho is the artistic name associated with this Kutani ware flower vase, produced in the tradition of Kutani porcelain from Ishikawa Prefecture. Kutani ware, first produced in the mid-17th century, is celebrated for its vivid overglaze enamel colour palette — characteristically employing deep greens, reds, yellows, purples, and blues — and for its elaborately painted pictorial surfaces depicting flowers, birds, landscapes, and classical motifs. The tradition encompasses both industrial production and individual studio work, with many accomplished artists working in its long and distinguished lineage. This piece reflects the refinement and decorative ambition that has made Kutani ware one of the most internationally recognised of all Japanese ceramics.
