如今或许难以想象，但在20世纪大部分时间，麦卡伦主要是调和酒中的单一麦芽成分。

直到20世纪80年代市场低迷，蒸馏厂才决定专注于其单一麦芽品牌。

恰好这与蒸馏厂在1960年代和1970年代将其高品质酒款授权给 Campbell, Hope & King 与 Gordon & MacPhail 的热潮同时出现。这些仍然是市场上最具收藏价值的酒款之一。

虽然全球单一麦芽的销量仍由斯佩赛德区邻居 Glenfiddich 和 Glenlivet 领跑，麦卡伦却极易成为最受追捧的品牌。

甚至到了这种程度，他们在2018年还新开了一座蒸馏厂，这座位于 Easter Elchies 庄园内的地下建筑杰作，拥有36口铜制蒸馏器。

麦卡伦现已停产的1824系列入门装瓶，在2012至2018年间生产，包含 Gold、Amber、Sienna 和 Ruby（在高端也有一些新增款）。

尽管该系列停产，Gold 的表达仍被保留，过渡到新系列 Double Cask 的入门级。
