A Kampa, ancient Sino-Tibetan 'Dragon' knife with openwork-silver (not tested) and shagreen mounted scabbard
Beautiful Tibetan knife with bone handle, horn and leather sheath covered in silver with a deer on top mount and dragon on the lower mount.
Hand forged single edged iron blade with concave top-edge. Hilt with bone grips, front decorated with motive made of dots, iron pommel above ebony wood or dark horn band between bronze (brass?) narrow tapes. Wooden scabbard mounted in finely finished openwork silver mounts and shagreen in the middle. Comes with an original leather loop.
Dimensions: lenght in scabbard - 24,7 cm; without scabbard - 20 cm; lenght of the blade - 11 cm. Weight - 201 g.
Provenance: Dutch (Utrecht) private collection.
Conditions report: excellent, minimal use- and age-related wear. Natural patina. Wear to the wood in scabbard. One grip-plate with cracka. Blade needs gentle cleaning. Check pictures for details.
