Masterpiece， bronze sculpture of the God Baal， representative work of Phoenician art from the 6th century BC. With huge dimensions of 23.5 cm high， 3.5 cm wide and 7.5 cm deep， it is in a perfect state of preservation， allowing its shape and details to be appreciated despite the passage of time.

The figure represents the God Baal， one of the most important deities in the Semitic cultures of the Mediterranean， particularly venerated by the Phoenicians. The sculpture shows Baal standing， in an upright and majestic position， which underlines his importance as the god of thunder， rain and fertility. Despite the simplicity of the figure， a divine and powerful bearing is perceived.

Baal wears on his head a conical cap characteristic of Phoenician representations of deities， a symbol of authority and divine royalty. The body is naked， although sculpted in a stylised manner， without too much detail in the musculature. This formal simplicity is common in small-format sculptures from this period， where symbolism prevails over detailed realism.

Bronze， the material used in this work， was highly prize in ancient Mediterranean cultures， both for its durability and its ability to retain fine detail. The use of bronze to represent Baal reflects the importance of this figure in Phoenician religion， as bronze sculptures were often intended for sacred sites or temples， or were votive offerings.

Baal， God of thunder and fertility， had a central place in the Phoenician pantheon and other Semitic cultures of the eastern Mediterranean.
