Large pale celadon nephrite jade sculpture horse and monkey –China- 20th Century
On offer is a top-carved pale celadon nephrite jade sculpture of a monkey riding the horse. This semi-translucent jade sculpture is carved in the Chinese taste, with an eye for detail, like the manes and the hair of the horse. Even the eyelashes of the horse are visible. This high-quality sculpture is beautifully smoothly finished. The jade is of very high quality without impurities. Very hard to find!
Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This jade comes from inland China. An interesting jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! Please see test results and pictures.
