卖家的描述
A luminous six-panel byōbu covered in golden silk, creating a soft shimmering effect in contrast with the dark lacquered frame.
Historically, folding screens with gold-toned backgrounds were often used in noble residences and temples, not only for their functional role but also for their aesthetic and symbolic value. The golden surface evoked refinement and elevated status while enhancing the decorative presence of the screen within the interior space.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
---The byobu is in good condition, with minor wear, halos and stains (especially at the bottom of the fourth panel and at the top of the sixth). Some wear to the lacquered frame. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
