Model History:
The Seiko Crown series was introduced in the late 1950s as one of Seiko’s early precision hand-wound lines, positioned just below the future King Seiko models. These watches featured clean, elegant designs and reliable in-house movements. The calibre 560 in this January 1960 example represents the improved generation of Seiko’s early 21-jewel hand-wound movements, known for durability and smooth operation. Stainless-steel Crowns from this period are less common than chrome-plated versions, making this variant more desirable.
