Ummagumma is a one-way ticket to space. Whether interstellar or interior is up to the listener to decide; the journey is what matters. A journey that began a full fifty years ago, in November 1969, the release date of a double album that some call the pinnacle of Floyd's art. Agree or disagree, one thing is certain: from that moment on, many things would change, and Pink Floyd would never be the same again.

OIS no splits/ no spindle marks sounds great
For a long time, "Meddle" remained the last Pink Floyd album in which the band presented a portrait. Furthermore, it's the last—to date—to feature the lineup with Waters. Is this a symptomatic sign that this album represented a watershed moment or the end of a cycle? Perhaps. Indeed, the compositional structure of "Meddle" is so heterogeneous compared to previous and subsequent works that it suggests a message between the lines, undoubtedly intuitive, that determines Pink Floyd's definitive position in the international rock culture, as well as their separation from the labels that had been foisted on them during the Barrett and post-Barrett eras.
