Description:

This is a Song Dynasty Tong'an Tingxi Kiln pearl-luminous celadon bowl, a classic export porcelain from the Song and Yuan Dynasties along the Maritime Silk Road, and a precious relic of Sino-Japanese tea ceremony cultural exchange. The bowl has a wide mouth, an arched belly, and a regular foot, showcasing the simple and unpretentious style of Song Dynasty folk kilns. The entire piece is covered in a creamy-yellow celadon glaze, warm and lustrous with natural crackles, exuding an antique charm. The exterior is decorated with radiating vertical lines, while the interior is carved with a water ripple pattern using a comb-like technique, demonstrating skillful and fluid carving, typical of this kiln. The exposed clay at the foot is solid and aged, clearly characteristic of the period.

Tong'an kiln celadon was exported overseas from Quanzhou Port. Named after the Japanese tea ceremony master Murata Jukō, it has always been highly prized by collectors. This piece is in excellent condition; the rim is slightly chipped, but this does not diminish its value. It possesses artistic, historical, and specimen value, making it suitable for collectors of folk kiln celadon and those interested in the Maritime Silk Road.

Condition:

The condition is good. There is slight glaze loss on the rim, which adds to its antique charm and does not diminish its historical or craftsmanship value. There are no cracks or signs of repair.
