Exquisite Pink Meissen Applied Flowers Cup & Saucer Set (1815-1924)
Discover a truly captivating piece of Meissen history with this large-sized applied flowers cup and saucer set, dating from the esteemed 1815-1924 period, as indicated by its crossed swords mark. This is not the more common demitasse, but a generously proportioned cup (please view the last photo for comparison), making it a rarer find within the beloved Meissen applied flower models.
What sets this particular set apart is its enchanting and less frequently encountered pink coloration for the intricate applied floral motifs. Each delicate petal and leaf is meticulously hand-formed and individually applied, showcasing the pinnacle of Meissen's renowned artistry and craftsmanship during this era. The elegant form of both the cup and saucer is further enhanced by subtle fluted details.
Dimensions:
Cup Height: 4.5 cm
Cup Diameter: 7.2 cm
Saucer Diameter: 12.5 cm
Condition Report (please read carefully):
- This set is "2nd choice", as can be seen on the meissen mark underneath.
- As is often the case with such delicate antique pieces, particularly those with three-dimensional applied decoration, there are some chips or missing petals/leaves. The gold gilding is quite worn out.
- Despite these imperfections, the main bodies of both the cup and saucer remain in remarkably excellent condition, completely free from chips or cracks, a testament to the enduring quality of Meissen porcelain.
