卖家的描述
Item Description:
A rare and charming complete set of ten gui-nomi (ぐい呑み) sake cups from the Shūsen Kiln (Shūsen-gama), issued under the studio name Suisen (翠泉), presented in a bespoke wooden display rack (oke) with the artist's calligraphic inscription and red seal (shuin) on the lid.
The set was produced for a traditional crafts festival (dentō kōgei-sai) and represents a comprehensive showcase of the Mino-ware (Mino-yaki) tradition in miniature — ten individually conceived gui-nomi, each demonstrating a distinct glaze technique, surface treatment, or decorative approach from the breadth of Mino's celebrated repertoire.
The ten cups include, among others: a blue-and-white (sometsuke) cup with spotted and striped underglaze cobalt decoration on a white ground; two yellow-green (ki-gusuri) glazed cups with characteristic warm amber-olive tones and fine crackle; a warm buff crackle-glaze cup (kairagi) with bold blue brushwork of grasses or birds; a small pedestal cup (sakazuki) in tan glaze with white slip and brown iron-pigment floral brushwork; a white slip cup with green glaze accents and brown iron-brush plant motifs; a jet-black glaze (kuro) cylindrical cup; a richly green oribe-style bowl with organic pinched rim and glaze gradations; a vibrant ox-blood red (shinsha) cup with dark rim band; and a white crackle-glaze bowl with freely brushed dark ink-style branch and leaf motifs.
Together the set reads as a compendium of Mino glazing — from the bold monochromes to the painterly brushwork traditions.
Each cup is hand-formed and individually fired; no two are identical.
The wooden display stand holds all ten pieces in individual compartments.
The box lid bears the artist's inscription Gui-nomi Oke (ぐい呑桶) in calligraphy, with signature and seal.

The set is the work of Suisen(翠泉)of the Shūsen Kiln (Shūsen-gama), a Mino-ware studio. Mino-yaki, produced in the Tōnō region of Gifu Prefecture, is Japan's largest ceramic production area, celebrated for its remarkable diversity of glaze traditions — including Shino, Oribe, Ki-Seto and Seto-Guro — developed from the Momoyama period onward. This set exemplifies the breadth of that tradition in a single curated collection of ten individually distinguished gui-nomi.
