Charming classic still life depicting a generous bouquet of roses in an ornate blue vase, painted in oil on a wooden panel. The piece is signed "V. Saurel" in the lower right corner. The artist uses a beautiful impasto technique, bringing texture and depth to the flower petals.
The painting comes with its original, beautifully crafted Louis XV-style gilded frame, featuring ornate corner cartouches with shell and foliage motifs.
Provenance: Acquired in 1987 in the North of France. Held in a private collection since then.
Condition report: The painting is in good condition with vibrant colors. The vintage frame shows structural cracks at the four corner joints and minor crackling in the stucco, adding to its authentic vintage character (please refer to the detailed photos).
