This artwork is one of 30 prints from the series titled "30 Views of Kinki" by Yoshihara Hideo. The artist carefully selected 30 famous places and historic sites in the Kinki region and spent approximately one year creating the series.
The Sogenchi Garden is a stroll garden with a central pond located at Tenryu-ji Temple, a World Heritage site in Arashiyama, Kyoto, and was designed about 700 years ago by Muso Soseki. It is a famous garden that incorporates Arashiyama and Kameyama as borrowed scenery, and it is known as a "national treasure of gardens," being the first site in Japan to be designated as a Historic Site and Special Place of Scenic Beauty.
