With this square-format artwork, Medsan propels the classic figures of Japanese theater into the colorful effervescence of contemporary arcade halls. This print features a character wearing Kumadori makeup, unique to Kabuki actors, paired with the sophisticated hairstyle of an oiran, richly adorned with kanzashi (hairpins), captured in a moment of intense concentration.

The visual and temporal contrast is striking: the subject, dressed in a sumptuous kimono in turquoise and orange hues, adorned with cranes (tsuru) and golden flashes, leaves the theatrical stage to indulge in a claw machine. The ancestral dramatic tension is here diverted toward the expert manipulation of the joystick to try to capture small pastel-colored kawaii plush toys (bear cubs, cats and little creatures).
