卖家的描述

Original black and white gelatin silver print by the Czech photographer Jan Saudek, referenced with numbered #375. The work is accompanied by its certificate, the size as 21.7 × 19.5 cm, black and white. The certificate is dated 23.10.1986, while the photograph itself is hand signed and annotated on the lower margin.

The certificate bears the same date 23.10.1986 and the reference A1003317. It was issued by jansaudek.com, connected with the official representation and rights management of Jan Saudek’s photographic work at the time, adding useful documentation and provenance to the photography.

“FIN. OCT. 23 – 1886 – MODEL PRINT OF #375”. Jan Saudek is known for using a personal dating system.
Jan Saudek is known for drawing inspiration from old photographic prints and 19th-century visual culture, including the atmosphere of early studio photography and hand-coloured photographs. In this context, his handwritten date 1886 should be understood as part of his characteristic practice of dating works 100 years earlier, corresponding here to 1986. The print also appears signed in the lower right of the image.

Jan Saudek is one of the most internationally recognised Czech photographers of the 20th century. His staged interiors, dramatic use of light and emotionally charged figures place his work in dialogue with artists and photographers such as Joel-Peter Witkin, Duane Michals, Francesca Woodman, Diane Arbus, Man Ray, Pierre Molinier, Hans Bellmer, Robert Mapplethorpe, Irina Ionesco, Sarah Moon, David Hamilton, Josef Sudek, František Drtikol, Toyen, Karel Teige, Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, Sally Mann, Helmut Newton, Bettina Rheims, Deborah Turbeville, Eikoh Hosoe, Nobuyoshi Araki, Witold Wojtkiewicz, Edvard Munch, Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt. His photographs are appreciated by collectors for their unmistakable atmosphere and their important place within Czech and European art photography.

Good condition overall. The gelatin silver print is well preserved, with only slight folding on the corners.
