The mountain lake is positioned behind the trees with bold carving and accurate screen composition, making it a print that gives a sense of depth. The work is expressed only in black, but the trees and mountain ranges allow one to sense the fresh greenery, and the lake allows one to sense the clear blueness, making it a work where one can taste the refreshing scenery and air of early summer. It is a valuable work produced in 1957.

Artist Profile:
Born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1906.
Devised an original "Takuzuri" technique. Expressed Buddhist statues, ancient capitals, and the sacred peak Mt. Fuji with a deep texture of black and white, and received high evaluation from home and abroad for his powerful painting style.
