Japanese deity who appears in Japanese mythology. At the event of Amano-Iwato "heavenly rock cave", Ame-no-tajikarao waited at the cave's door to pull out Amaterasu from the cave, and thus return light to the world.

The Bicchu Kagura mask carved by Tanabe Seiyu represents Ame‑no‑Tajikarao, the deity of overwhelming physical strength who pulled Amaterasu from the Heavenly Rock Cave, its sharply defined brows, tense mouth, and forceful modeling giving the face a concentrated, almost explosive energy; the crisp carving lines and bold contrasts reflect Tanabe’s disciplined folk‑craft sensibility, allowing the god’s heroic, action‑driven presence to emerge with a directness suited to ritual performance.
